Delicious shortbread with a fun and flowery twist! Our Flower Shortbread is perfect for kids and their grownups alike and will make the best treat to make for yourself this spring.
Ingredients

200g Salted Butter

100g Fairtrade Caster Sugar (plus a little extra for dusting!)

300g Plain Flour

A Few Chocolate Couverture Buttons
Directions
Preheat the oven to 190C/170C Fan/Gas 5.
Beat the butter and the sugar together until smooth.
Stir in the flour to get a smooth dough. Turn on to a work surface and gently roll out until the dough is 1cm/½in thick.
Cut out flower shapes using your flower cutter and gently place onto a baking tray.
Bake in the oven for 8 –10 minutes, or until pale golden-brown. Set aside to cool on a wire rack. Whilst the shortbread are still hot, sprinkle with caster sugar.
Leave the shortbread to cool for around 2-5 minutes and then place a milk chocolate button in the centre of each one – no need to press them in, the heat from the shortbread will gently melt the bottom of the button so it sticks.
Leave to cool completely and enjoy!
